THE PROCESS OF PEACE

Ball Point Pen on Paper

My mind has no preconceived image as I make my mark and repeat and redo my marks using a simple ball-point pen.  The entire paper surface is considered as selected areas are darkened by carefully layering the ink.  The whole process is meditative.  Realizing how one part, or mark can affect another is never stronger when there is a slip of the pen or an ink blob enters the paper. Negotiations ensure often creating new forms and images.  Abstract compositions may result incorporating recognizable fragments, many from nature and certainly drawn from sources in the unconscious.  Effects of light, whether strong or diffuse against edges rigid or permeable, travel, reflecting my response to the environment.
