I was very close to my Grandmother Sara and I miss her. She was a piano teacher and a musician who loved music and teaching her students. She was also an artist who made mixed media art before it was popular. She made things out of metal, glass, and anything she could get her hands on. She was a gardener, collector, and to me bigger than life. She was not perfect but she loved me and I loved her. All of the items in the box were things that belonged to her and have her energy. The collaged pictures are her and my Grandfather. The picture in the frame is her with my mother as a young child. I made the box as a gift for my brother Bruce Savadkin in memory of our Grandmother Sara.
